Relationship Between Theology and Rhetoric in Babarti
Abstract
Relationship Between Theology and Rhetoric in Babarti Agmal al-Din al-Babarti (d. Ah 786/1384 ad) as well as an expert in Kalam, he is an spe- cialist in Arabic rhetoric and language in terms of his effective use of literary arguments and his literary styles. So, he influenced many thinker in both field of theology and rheto- ric schools. Babarti has a justifiable reputation in terms of not only works about Kalam such as al-Maksad, sharh al-Maksad, Sharh Akîdah at-Tahâviyya but also about his rhetoric and grammar books as Sharh of Alphiyah of Ibn Mu’tî and Talhis at-Talhis. Be- cause of his competence in the field of rhetoric and theology, his theological ideas re- flected to his rhetoric thought, and his rhetoric concepts reflected to Kalam opinions. Es- pecially in this work, we will try to determine his place in Kalam area in terms of his rhetoric opinions

Öz
Önemli bir mütekellim olduğu kadar etkili Belâğat üslûbu ve dil kullanımına sahip olması yönüyle de dikkati çeken Ekmelüddin el-Bâbertî (ö.786/1384) gerek Kelâm sahasında gerekse Belâğat alanında yazdığı eserlerle her iki alanda da pek çok düşünürü etkilemiş büyük bir ilim adamıdır. Bâbertî, el-Maksad, Şerhu’l-Maksad, Şerhu Akîdeti’t-Tahâviyye gibi Kelâma dair yazdığı eserleri ile sadece Kelâm alanında değil, aynı zamanda, Şerhu Elfiyeti İbn Mu’tî, Telhîsu’t-Telhîs gibi eserleriyle nahvin yanı sıra meânî, beyân ve bedi’ yani Belâğat sahasında da haklı bir şöhrete sahiptir. Bâbertî’nin hem Kelâm hem de Belâğat sahasında yetkinliği, Kelâmî argümanlarına Belâğatın, Belâğat ile ilgili yaklaşımlarına ise Kelâmın yansımasına neden olmuştur. Biz bu çalışmamızda özellikle onun retorik görüşleri açısından Kelâm alanındaki konumunu belirlemeye çalışacağız
