THOMAS AQUINAS AND ISLAM

Abstract

St. Thomas Aquinas tried to defend and rationalize Christianity in both of his books; Summa Contra Gentiles and Reasons for the Faith against Muslim Objections. Both books are considered to have been written against Islam and the Muslims. This article, firstly, discusses whether or not St. Thomas Aquinas really knew Islam. It also questions if St. Thomas’ apology could be a model for Christian apologies against the Muslims.
