Bursa is the first capital of the Ottoman state. In the period of establishment of state the majoraty of political and military bureaucrats come from famous families who live in Bursa such as Akça Koca, Bayezid Paşa, Çandarlı and Lala Şahin Paşa families. Kara Timur Pa-a family was one of the most important vizier (vezir) family of that time too. Kara Ali, Kara Timur Pa-a’s father, and his grand father Aykut Alp was appointed to conquest of Bursa and it’s surroundings in the time of Osman Bey and Orhan Bey. Kara Timurtaş whose name was given to his dynasty became Anatolia governer-general (Anadolu Beylerbeyi) then was appointed vizier. His sons Umur bey, Oruç Bey and Ali Bey joined both Anatolian and Balkan’s conquests like their father, then all of them became vizier in the period of Murat II. They left state divan and then Oruç Bey served as a governer-general, Ali Bey served as a governer of a sanjak and Umur Bey served as a ambassador of Germiyan. In addition to their political and military services, Kara Timur Paşa family has built a lot of social foundations (vakıf) for public benefit. Timurtaş Paşa mosque, Timurtaş Paşa bath, Umur Bey mosque and Namazgah are fulfilling their function now but some of their foundations did not reach to this century
