During intellectual formation and maturing of his ideas, other cultures
have contributed a lot to the Jewish background of Paulus who had an active life.
His statements concerning the social status of women and especially the
scarves/veils resemble exactly to those in the Old Testaments and the Talmud. His
view of the scarf/veil reflects the traditions of the cultures in which he was obliged
to live in. Paulus, therefore, has not invented a new idea about the “woman” and
their “head cover”, but uttered the cultural values of those days. This fact, therefore,
is not an original and new idea for the Christian doctrine.
