ON THE REASONS OF MISUNDERSTANDING MAWLANA IN THE FRAME OF MASNAWI
Abstract
This paper is about the shortcomings observed in understanding Rumi’s thoughts and messages, and why this may be the case. Causing differences of level in the interpretations about Rumi, some of these reasons arise out of the reader, which –in itself– constitutes the external aspect of the understanding problem. Certain other “obstacles” stop the reader from penetrating into the Rumi’s intellect and messages. This type of internal obstacles, which stem from the theme, style, and content indigenous to Rumi’s works, we believe, play a more influential role in terms of laying the ground for the abovementioned understanding problem. Among topics that this paper explores are such problems of comprehension, having their roots in the fact that Rumi is a Sûfî philosopher, and that this school of thought is reflected on the style and content of his works, and possible explanations as to the reasons of such problem

Öz
Bu makale, Mevlânâ’nın düşünce ve mesajlarının anlaşılmasında ortaya çı-
kan anlama sorunlarıve nedenleri hakkındadır. Mevlânâ ile ilgili okumalarda ortaya
çıkan seviye farklılıklarına yol açan bu nedenlerden bazılarıokuyucudan kaynaklanan
ve anlama sorununun harici boyutunu teşkil eden nedenlerdir.
Okuyucunun Mevlânâ’nın düşünce ve mesajlarına nüfûzunu engelleyen di-
ğer bazı“mânia”lar daha bulunmaktadır. Mevlânâ’nın eserlerindeki tema, üslûp ve
içerikten kaynaklanan bu tür dâhili mânialar, anlama sorununa zemin teşkil etmeleri
bakımından bu konuda bize göre daha etkin rol oynamaktadır. Mevlânâ’nın sûfî
bir düşünür olmasından kaynaklanan ve bu düşünce tarzının eserlerindeki ifadelere
yansımasından neşet eden anlama sorunlarıve nedenleri de makalede işlenen konular
arasındadır.
